Welcome to Oak Valley Elementary School

Oak Valley Elementary is a neighborhood school nestled in the Santa Ynez Valley, about one mile west of US Highway 101, in Buellton. It serves about 420 students in grades TK-5. Oak Valley's mission is to insure that all students become motivated, successful learners who contribute to the global community. Success is developed through a strong academic, standards-based learning environment. Students are provided a variety of challenging learning experiences under the guidance of a dedicated, professional, nurturing staff, committed parents, and a supportive community!

Oak Valley's facilities include a large playground equipped with areas for a variety of games and activities, including developmentally appropriate playground equipment and an expansive playing field.

Oak Valley's curriculum is comprehensive and research-based, with a strong emphasis on language arts and mathematics, science and social studies. Programs are closely aligned with the California content standards. Teachers have developed and follow grade-level academic pacing plans to insure that all critical standards are well-taught and reinforced. Students' progress is frequently monitored with common assessment tools across their grade level. Teachers collaborate regularly to discuss student progress and plan instruction.

Oak Valley students visit the school library regularly to choose appropriate reading materials. Thanks to our Buellton Community we have state of the art technology-presentation classrooms outfitted with LCD projectors combined with AppleTV, iPads and Laptops for visual and researched-based instruction. Laptops and iPads are targeted for strategic student use in a 2-students to 1-device ratio to go along with our collaborative learning philosophy. In addition, a robust computer-lab is utilized regularly by all classes to provide a 1:1 ratio for various curriculum and testing. High speed Internet access is available throughout the campus.
